Town center redevelopment

Landessanierungsprogramm Meißenheim Ortsmitte

On the basis of the application dated October 10, 2008, the municipality of Meißenheim was included in the state renovation program (LSP) 2009 with the urban renewal measure “Ortsmitte” in Meißenheim. The application was made to include almost 12 hectares of land to improve the infrastructure with an estimated renovation cost of € 2.7 million. The Baden-Wuerttemberg Ministry of Economics approved a first step of € 500,000 with the option of topping up on March 24, 2009.

The preparatory investigations were carried out under the leadership of STEG – Stadtentwicklung GmbH from Stuttgart. On the basis of these research results, the municipal council formally determined the redevelopment area “Ortsmitte” with 8.81 hectares in its public meeting on July 5th, 2010 by resolution of the articles of association. The grant guidelines were also decided at the same meeting.

The redevelopment of the “Meißenheim town center” should be completed by December 31, 2017, this time frame can be extended if necessary. By joining the state renovation program, Meißenheim also has the opportunity to significantly improve and redesign the town center with state aid.

This is also a good opportunity for the building trade to get more orders.
